Hi, my name is Emily, I am 13 years old, and I have been nominated by my school to participate in the People to People Student Ambassador program! It was started by President Eisenhower in 1956. My trip is called European Odyssey and I will travel to France, Italy and Greece where I hope to see many beautiful landmarks. The goal of p2p is to promote world peace. Our leaders (I can already see) are very easy-going and friendly so it would be hard not to feel peaceful in their presence. 

One of my accomplishments, whether I make it to Europe or not, was being accepted to P2P. I’m interested in Greek mythology, soccer, music, animals and the world around me. I love to read, write, sing and fly. What makes me special I think is that I seem like a quiet person at school but outside of school I am really weird!!!

I hope to gain new friendships and more knowledge about the places I am visiting. Also I hope to gain the opportunity to be invited back next summer. To gain knowledge, friendships and opportunities on the p2p trip, I believe is easy. I have not gone on a trip like this before but I have already made some new friends at the orientation meeting.

I was very surprised to learn that I was selected to be an ambassador for p2p. P2P is a program that sends students around the world to promote world peace. People should support my involvement because I can show it does not matter how old you are, you can most definitely get a chance to change the world. The program helps a lot of kids "Break out of their shells" and experience, something most adults will never do. I hope to raise all of the money for my trip and I hope you can help me realize my dream!

I was given a real honor of being selected as a People to People Student Ambassador! I can barely begin to imagine what it will be like to visit the actual Pantheon and Parthenon in person!

Emily is a 13-years-old who has an insatiable hunger for Greek and Roman mythology. Almost all of her spare time is devoted to reading about the gods, temples, and their history.

As a People to People student ambassador, Emily has the opportunity to travel to Paris, Athens and Rome this June.

For her to be able to experience a trip like this at 13 would be a wonderful, life-changing opportunity!
